I have created this page to showcase my latest work apart from my existing galleries. The page will be refreshed every time I have put together a new collection or set of images and the old images added to the appropriate galleries.
Tehidy Country Park, Cornwall
Thursday 2nd July
We went down to Cornwall at the end of June for 10 days and in the days leading up to going I'd put together a few ideas as to what I'd like to photograph while we were there.
Sadly, my plans were scuppered when the a week before we were due to go I managed to put my back out and spent the next few days flat out and barely able to stand up.
What I had hoped to do was go to the coast, preferably Trevose Point and capture the dramatic coastline and try my hand at focus stacking. Not to be deterred, I still took my camera bag and tripod, but had to settle for something more comfortable.
I was able to wangle an afternoon to myself and drove down to Tehidy Country Park about 15 miles west of Truro. I spent a very pleasant afternoon there and gently rambled along the various paths and took photo's of the things that interested me at the time.
That evening when we got back to St Minver I took a walk up to the main road and took a few images of the landscape we have grown to love over the years we've been going down there.
On my way back to the caravan, the sun was setting over the barley field adjacent to where we stay and that is where I took my favourite shot of the day.
I took well over a 100 photo's that day, but these are my favourite. I hope you enjoy them.
Flowers in the Garden
SUNDAY 13th June
Whilst the majority were most probably glued to the TV this afternoon watching England play football, I decided to get my camera out for the first time this year and take a few images of the flowers in the garden.
The object of the exercise was to capture the shape and form of the flowers in an abstract fashion. Differential focus and Bokeh being essential elements of the project. The strong sunlight playing a major role in creating the colour, shapes, highlights and shadows I was looking for.
I hope you like what I've done and I'll look forward to reading any constructive comments you may have.
All hand held and manual focus using a Canon 5D MkII, Sigma 105mm Macro Lens. All shot at f4 Aperture Priority with Auto ISO and letting the camera handle the Shutter Speeds.
Bright sunshine and a slight breeze.
